Built for Its Coastal Setting, Not Against It
Black Rock sits further down the bay than Brighton or St Kilda — quieter, more secluded, a suburb that attracts homeowners who want the water without the noise. Homes here work best when they take their cue from that quality: grounded in the landscape, oriented to light and outlook, built from materials that make sense next to salt air and open sky.
That’s the approach Pascon took here. The material palette is bold but considered, chosen to read well against a coastal backdrop rather than fight it. The open-plan living areas are arranged around how light enters the home and how the space connects to the outside. The detail level throughout joinery, fixtures, finishes is held to the same standard as every other project in the portfolio, because the suburb being quieter doesn’t make the brief any simpler.
